We ordered an Apple Vision Pro for the Delta Innovation Team and staged a demo of its capabilities.
Then, we gave the entire team 10 minutes to imagine and put down any potential applications of the device on a Delta Flight that would help elevate customer experience. Some of these ideas are shown here.
In Prof. John Stasko’s InfoCanvas project, users had a higher recall rate for data embedded in art than standard text for a web display. We want to bring this to a mobile display and test its effectiveness as a peripheral source of information. Further background and related work can be found in my research paper.

Needless to say, it is an exciting time for Mixed Reality. The release of Apple Vision Pro has led to many innovative solutions being considered in daily experiences. I think the possibilities are immense for mixed-reality supported in-flight experiences. I would love to explore these further with more user testing and qualitative analysis to support this.
